Mumbai, India (April 25, 2022) A 20-minute short film, Aai starring AshwiniKalsekar, Rohan Gandotra, and Chahatt Khanna, directed and produced by Subi Samuel, with story screenplay and dialogues by Ashuu Trikha bagged Cannes shorts film festival award. The film also won the IMFF award and is officially nominated for the DadasahebPhalke award.
Famous Indian actor Ashwini Kalsekar, best known for her contribution to the television and film industry, is playing the role of a single mother in the film. RohanGandotra, an Indian television actor is playing the role of a loving son, and ChahattKhanna, an Indian television and film actress is cast as his wife in the film.
To give a whiff of the short film, Aai is the story of a widow, the sacrifices she had made to raise her son. This special film expresses the sacrifices that every mother makes to raise their children. The entire cast AshwiniKalsekar, RohanGandotra, and ChahattKhanna had put their heart and soul into the film. This heartbreakingly beautiful short film evoked the depth of raw feelings. In the preview of this short film, Ashwini Kalsekar, the soul of the film, moved the people from the fraternity with her performance. She has beautifully expressed the feelings and emotions of a single mother.
