Shashi Ranjan was interacting with NewsHelpline at the Red-Carpet Gala of ITA Awards 2022 in Mumbai.
Talking about his journey with the ITA and struggles he faced establishing the platform, Shashi said, “Years ago when we presented the idea to channels, they didn’t think that audience would watch television actors before Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan or Amitabh Bachchan, they had their doubts about the success of this platform, but we believed in it, I knew the television industry would be bigger than anything in coming times, and now you can see, after 21 years, the television programs are not just popular in India but across the globe”
Sharing his excitement about the 21st edition of the most prestigious and leading television award show, Ranjan added, “This is the 21st year of ITA, I am happy that we have covered the journey of 2 decades and television industry is huge now, and everyone across the board has worked together with ITA, I am happy about it”
Shashi Ranjan, an actor/director from FTII and the Publisher of GR8 Magazine and co-founder of The Indian Television Academy, also acted in movies, he was last seen in Tumhari Sulu, which starred Vidya Balan in the lead role.
