Would Love To Play Similar Character As My Dad Says Karan Deol

Mumbai, 25th February 2022 (NewsHelpline) - Third generation Deol, actor Karan Deol says he isn’t shying away from his family legacy and someday wish to step into his father’s character and do it brilliantly. 

 

Karan made his debut with a romantic drama, followed it with college comic caper and now working on his first action genre, Apne 2, which happens to be his favorite because of his father Sunny Deol.  

 

Talking about his favorite genre and stepping into his father’s shoe, Karan said, “Action is my favorite genre. While growing up I saw that genre quite a bit, so it was my dream to eventually step into those characters, in that specific genre and do that type of role and it really excite me. While growing up as a kid, my dad has always been a role model and majority of his film has always been action films, so watching him in those characters and persona, I’d always wished that someday I’d get an opportunity of doing the similar character, as he has played and in the similar genre that he has done brilliantly”  

 

Anil Sharma helmed Apne 2 will feature entire Deol clan in full action and emotional avatars, starring Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Karan Deol. 

 

Talking about the preparation for the role, Karan said, “Started my boxing training, I am hitting the gym full-fledged, I am trying to into shape as a boxer would be on-screen. This is going to be an exciting journey; I think I will get to learn a lot and make memories for lifetime, because of each one of them is a great actor in their own genre, all of them made their own ways in life” 

 

“My grandfather’s legacy is something else, I don’t think anyone can come close to touching it, in-terms of versatility and acting skills. My dad and my uncle are brilliant at what they do, so working with them will be school and learning experience, it is my family” added Karan. 

 

Finding one’s voice among such established actor in a movie could be difficult, but Karan believes contrary is true. He said, “It is a family film, so emotions will be natural. It would be my real-life grandfather, dad and uncle who’d standing in front of me, and the moment I make an eye contact, emotions will come organically. They are different breed of actors and so senior to me, but I told myself I wouldn’t let it scare or turn me away, I’d going to be competent, confident and deliver.” 

 

The film goes on floors in March 2022.
