My Opinions Create Controversies Says Anurag Kashyap On Hijab Row

Mumbai, 22nd February 2022 (NewsHelpline) - Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap says there is no point putting his opinion forward as they do nothing but create controversies. 

 

Gangs Of Wasseypur director Anurag has been vocal about his opinions about everything on social media, but off late, due to unnecessary twisting and turning on his quotes, the filmmaker has avoided posting next to nothing on his social media or otherwise. 

 

NewsHelpline was interacting with Anurag Kashyap on the sidelines of art exhibition, when we asked him about on-going Hijab controversy, and he said, “I used to talk openly on social media but not anymore. It would be a lot better if you didn’t ask me about my opinion, because all they do is create controversy. But I feel that everyone is thinking the same thing, everyone is unified on whatever is happening and mass is empowered enough to say whatever they want to say, election is going on, masses has spoken” 

 

Further adding, when asked about defining art, Anurag said, “I think artist should be handed over the world to run, I am being honest here, an artist can run the world better because they have vision, sensitivity, and empathy, they should be running the world” 

 

Anurag was last seen in AK VS AK film, his last directorial outing was the 2020 film Choked which featured Amruta Subhash and Rajshri Deshpande.

 

When asked about his upcoming projects, Anurag added, “Right now, let the lockdown get lifted completely, let the big films release first and then we will release our films” 

 

Anurag also added that he excited to watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next, “Gangubai Kaithiawadi is releasing soon, and I want to see it”.
