The film was initially set for a July 2020 release but was pushed to November 19 due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. The team had picked March 25 as their release date but it was clashing with RRR, now the release date is 20thMay.
The horror-comedy is a sequel to filmmaker Priyadarshan's 2007 film of the same name that featured Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in lead roles.
