Zareen Khan Supports The Bill To Raise Marriageable Age

Mumbai, 20th December 2021 (NewsHelpline) - The marriage bill to raise the marriageable age for women from 18 to 21 years, has been opposed by a section of commentators, activists, and some political parties, but finds a supporter in Zareen Khan, who believes it is good bill and she is all in favor of it.

 

Actress Zareen Khan was interacting with NewsHelpline on the sidelines of Delphic Games 27th Anniversary celebration, where she turned showstopper for 'Timeless Expression' fashion show segment. 

 

When we asked her about the new bill which raise the marriageable age for women from 18 to 21 years, Zareen said, “Marriage is an individual choice; it has always been one and should always remain as such. I am 35 years old woman, who hasn’t been married yet, so I don’t think there should be an age limit to it, but the marriageable age which has been pushed from 18 to 21 years for girls, the eligibility of marriage, that is good thing”

 

“Because I think 21 years old girl is tab bit smarter than 18 years old, and it is good thing that girl’s parent cannot really force her to get married at a tender age. I think increasing the eligibility age for marriage in girl, it is a great decision” added Zareen Khan.

 

After her last digital out ‘Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele’, Zareen Khan hasn’t announced any project, says it is because of pandemic. 

 

Talking about her projects, which are stuck in the pipeline, Zareen said, “There are a lot of projects in the pipeline, and it’s been there since last 2 years, due to pandemic everything is stalled. I am really hoping that in 2022, there are no more lockdown, so that situation doesn’t worsen, and I can start working on my projects”
