Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra released his autobiography The Stranger In The Mirror, it is published by Rupa Publications, the book is co-authored by noted writer Reeta Ramamurthy Gupta.
Interacting with NewsHelpline about the book and people who have praised it, Rakeysh said, “Overall, people that I look up to have praised the book, Mr. Narayanmurthy, Amish Tripathi, Shekhar Kapur’s testimonials are there in the book, but the most important thing for me in this book is my family chapters, they are close to my heart”
Further adding, “Stranger In The Mirror book is autobiographical, it co-authored with Rita Rama Gupta. It tracks my journey from childhood till today, with all my films. Unlike usual biographies, this one has many narrators, so you will have AR Rahman, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Waheeda Rahman, Atul Kulkarni, Raveena Tandon, the list is long, they all talked about their experiences of working in the movies and me, so, it is a life journey” said Mehra.
When asked about his expectation from the readers, Mehra said he is looking forward to knowing which part of the book readers didn’t like.
He said, “I wrote what I wanted to write, best part of the book, I guess only readers can tell me whether they liked the book or not, what part did they like and most important, what parts they didn’t like. Because it is my understanding, the parts which you didn’t like, you tend to take it personally, so that is something I’d like to know from the people what they didn’t like in the book”
The filmmaker is known for making revolutionary and sports drama’s such as Aks, Rang De Basanti, Delhi-6, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Fanney Khan, Mere Pyare Prime Minister and Toofaan.
