Actor Abbas, the heartthrob of the 90s, yesterday (November 26) took to Facebook and penned an inspirational note that talks about spreading love & kindness, not hate & cruelty. In the last part of the message, the actor touched upon what we need to do to live a purposeful life.

Celebrating the myriad identities he is proud of, the actor says he has been shaped by cultural aspects which are his intrinsic part and feels strongly about them.

In the first line of the post, actor Abbas says he is a ‘Hindu’ from India being known as Hindustan, and in the follow-up line, ‘Muslim’ as he was born in a Muslim family. Then comes, the names of different states ‘West Bengal’, ‘Karnataka’, ‘Tamil Nadu’, ‘Andhra Pradesh’, ‘Kerala’ and city ‘Mumbai’ for his association with them. These places evoke positive emotions in him. We learn from this line that the actor embraced cultural diversity and plurality of society from here.

After claiming to have developed multiple identities, he says this establishes his ‘INDIAN’ identity he is proud of.

And since he has been living in New Zealand, says he is a Kiwi.

Next comes the pivotal message that he wants to convey to his followers. It is about the importance of spreading love, peace, kindness, ‘joy of healing’, and humbly implores people to think about these aspects, and asserts it starts with ‘YOU’ and with your good deeds to really make a difference.
