Superstar Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan Starrer Laal Singh Chaddha get delayed again, now the film is slated for Valentine’s Day 2022 release.
Laal Singh Chaddha was earlier scheduled to release this Christmas, will now arrive in theatres next year in February, due to delay in production.
The official handle of Aamir Khan Productions confirmed the new release date and reasons for delay. The caption for the note read, “#AamirKhan @kareenakapoorkhan @viacom18studios #AdvaitChandan #AtulKulkarni #PritamDa #AmitabhBhattacharya #LaalSinghChaddha”
The note read, "We welcome the decision of the administration to allow cinemas to re-open from 22nd Oct. Due to the delays faced as a result of the pandemic, we will be unable to release our film Laal Singh Chaddha, this Christmas. We will now be releasing Laal Singh Chaddha on Valentine's Day, 2022"
'Laal Singh Chaddha' is an official Hindi adaptation of the Oscar-winning film 'Forrest Gump', which starred Tom Hanks in the title role. The Hindi version also features Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya.
The adaptation of Forrest Gump, underwent a series of changes over a period of two decades, with Atul Kulkarni spending the first ten years adapting the script, and another ten years purchasing the remake rights.
Laal Singh Chaddha has been filmed in more than 100 Indian locations. However production was halted in March 2020 owing to COVID-19 pandemic in India before resuming during mid-September 2020 in Delhi, due to which the film initially scheduled for Christmas 2020 cinema release was delayed by an entire year.
It is now slated for cinema release on 11 February 2022.
