Game over was the turning point of my career says Music composer Gaurav H Singh

Q1) How did you start your journey in the Entertainment Industry?

Ans) I used to do live performances and compose jingles in Delhi for a long time. Then I moved to Mumbai owing to the fact that I always wanted to explore the music industry on a broader spectrum. There I began my journey as a composer for ads and I also used to do live performances in Mumbai.

2) Who supported you in your journey? Was family supportive enough or were they against it?

 

Ans) everybody in my family supported me in my journey. since my father was also a very good musician. Every member in our family had some of the other experts in different forms of arts.. so from my mother to brother to sister to my father, they backed me and my ability.

3) Who guided you? Any godfather? Who do you consider your mentor?

Ans) in the initial stages I had no one to guide me in the film and music industry. I was absolutely alien to this city. But as I spent time in this city I met people and that is how the journey began, I learned something new every day. But I had no godfather to start with.

4) Which was your 1st project and how you bagged it?

Ans) well I was performing live in Mumbai in different places. I met this guy Jenner Jose through someone. He was making a cross country film titled "ooops a desi" he heard my songs and liked them and that was my 1st film project that got released in 2013. From there I started this journey.

5) How long did you have to struggle?

Ans) depends on what you consider struggle. We always struggle as ambitious people I had to work really hard even till now since I was an outsider then. Meeting people and playing my songs to then lot of times my songs were selected in really good movies and then later they were not put in. I can't name those films but all that takes a toll mentally. Then I got work and struggle went on, but the degree of struggle changes.. no matter how successful you are, you always struggle to get better at your art.

6) Now when you look back how do you feel?

Ans) Now when I look back it all feels like a dream. People whom I saw on television singers I always loved I got to work with them. A singer like Palak Mucchal, Sadhana Sargam, Mohammad Irrfan, Asha Bhosle, and many other have sung for me I have film projects lined up. I feel like hardwork pays off. And I am eternally grateful to God for giving me this profession.

7) Which song was the turning point in your life?

Ans) the songs of my movie Game Over did really well. And people loved the songs. Especially " O re Jana" sung by Palak Mucchal and Mohammed Irrfan was appreciated very much also Jaage Saari raat sung by Shipra Goyal gathered millions of views on YouTube.

8) What are your Upcoming Projects?

Ans) I have 1 film slated to release this year and 2 films for 2022. I am also working on a single and I have got few international collaborations coming up to add to that I will release a gospel song this year. So a lot of work is happening right now.

9) What is your Dream project?

Ans) my dream project would be to compose music for Salman Khan as he is the biggest star in the country and also to compose for Vishesh films as they are known for melodic music.

10) Would you like to give some tips for newcomers?

Ans) To newcomers I would say Just work hard follow your dreams, don't worry about how long you have struggled, and don't compare your journey with any successful artist because everyone's journey is different. Keep working hard someday you will get the reward.
