Indian Film Festival of Melbourne honored veteran Pankaj Tripathi with Diversity In Cinema Award, which couldn’t have been more fitting and deserving.
The official handle of IIFM dropped the news on social media. The award was announced by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, with whom actor Pankaj Tripathi made headlines as Sultan in cult-classic Gangs of Wasseypur.
Pankaj Tripathi debuted in 2004 with a minor role in Run and Omkara and has since worked in more than 60 films and 60 television shows. His breakthrough came in the year 2012 for his antagonistic role in the Gangs of Wasseypur film series. He has since received critical appraisal for multiple films, including Fukrey, Masaan, Nil Battey Sannata, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Newton, and Stree.
Last seen in Mimi, actor Pankaj Tripathi will next be seen in Bachchan Pandey, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Helmed by Farhad Samji, written by Nischay Kuttanda and Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is slated for 26th January 2022 release.
