Director Karan Sharma who is currently getting accolades for his amazing direction of the project Maharani on Sony Liv talks exclusively about some questions on his journey and more.
1.In which year did you start your journey of filmmaking?
I started my journey of filmmaking from Delhi in 2001 and in 2003 took a leap to the hub of the Indian film industry, Mumbai and I have never stopped since.
2.Was the journey easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
The journey was definitely not easy. Being a devoted film fan, my individualistic approach prepared me well for the challenges in my path to becoming an avid filmmaker.
3.What projects have you been a part of?
I have been a part of several web series like Home and Avrodh as an associate and second unit director. Apart from this, I have been a part of few television shows like MTV Roadies 9, Jaanbaaz, and Yahan sab Anand Anand hai. TV commercials are also something I have worked in as a director for a long time.
4.Is there any particular type of project or an actor you want to direct?
As a filmmaker, I don't want to restrict myself to a particular kind of genre. It all depends on the script and the content. If it excites me, I will do it and try to do justice with it. I will be fortunate enough to work with some of the finest actors in Bollywood.
5.What genre do you like the most?
I have always been interested in a period drama or something that is close to reality.
