An avid wildlife supporter Randeep Hooda just took to his social media profile and shared some heartbreaking photos of animals which were killed in the name of infrastructure and development.
Randeep Hooda shared three part tweet, highlighted the need to control and monitor railway tracks especially in areas where wildlife can be found as train accidents contribute the highest to animal deaths.
He shared, “Cost of infra through wild life areas: Death of wild animals on railway tracks is just not acceptable. Two tigers n now this elephant (different locations) within 1 month. Existing tracks should be revisited for mitigation measures and new ones to avoid such areas @PiyushGoyal”
“Ratapani WILS, having abt 40 tigers, was OKed as Tiger Reserve by NTCA back in 2008, after 12 years the state is yet to notify it as TR. Below are news links of some deaths in this patch. Unfortunately, only incidents involving big cats get reported. @ntca_india @mpforestdept”
“Adding another rail line will only amplify the problem in the absence of mitigation measures. The wildlife body's nod is perplexing. Why isn't it a Tiger Reserve yet inspite of an approval 12 yrs ago @ntca_india @ChouhanShivraj @PiyushGoyal @PrakashJavdekar”
Through his social media profile, Randeep Hooda constantly tweets to Piyush Goyal, minister of railways and coal, about the sad state of railway infrastructure which has caused the deaths of many elephants and now tigers.
