Ekta Kapoor along with Guneet Monga and Tahira Kashyap Khurrana recently announced their endeavour - a cinema collective named Indian Women Rising in an effort to promote and accentuate Indian female content creators across the globe.

Their first project, internationally acclaimed short film Bittu’s trailer is out.

The official handle of Indian Women Rising released the trailer on social media. It said, “Presenting the trailer of @KarishmaDevDube's Student Oscar winning short film #Bittu - a first and very special film for the @IndWomenRising collective! Let's rise together! Sparkles #ForYourConsideration @ektarkapoor @guneetm @tahira_k @RuchikaaKapoor #ShreyaDevDube #MaryEvangelista”

Written and directed by Karishma Dev Dube, based on true story, Bittu is a short film about a close friendship between two girls, eclipsed by an accident.

Set in the picturesque locations against the backdrop of Himalayas, Bittu follows the story of an eight-year-old who must take matters into her own hands when her community fails to protect its most vulnerable.

Indian Women Rising is proud to present a film made by an upcoming Indian filmmaker Karishma Dev Dube - BITTU, the recipient of the prestigious 47th Student Academy Award!

The Collective, helmed by Ekta Kapoor, Guneet Monga, Tahira Kashyap Khurrana and Ruchikaa Kapoor has come together to support this gem.
