She is a woman with very less words but she can play her moves; Gauahar Khan on her character in ‘Tandav’

Actress-model Gauahar Khan, who next will be seen in a web series titled ‘Tandav’, has said that she is playing very strong character in forthcoming political-thriller show. She added saying that her character talks very less in the show but she has knack for creating strategies and planning.  

Gauahar Khan was interacting with News Helpline at the launch of Atrangz Studio which is created by Gauahar’s husband Zaid Darbar, brother-in-law Awez Darbar, sister-in-law Anam Darbar and Nagma Mirajkar on Monday in Mumbai.

Set in the power corridors of the capital city of the largest democracy, the fictional story of Tandav is created and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra and Ali Abbas Zafar and written by Gaurav Solanki.

The series will take the audience through the chaotic lanes of Indian politics and features a host of fantastic multitalented artists who will battle in the murky dark lanes of deceit, manipulation, greed, ambition and violence, all for the ultimate throne!

Gauahar Khan is playing role of a secretary to Anuradha (Dimple Kapadia), Gauahar as Maithili Sharan is her closest aide and confidante, talking about character in the show, Gauahar said, “She has very strong personality and of course she is one of the important characters of that political world which we have shown in the series. You (audience) have to watch the show to know what she is doing in it but I am very excited for it because I haven’t played a role like this earlier in my career who has very calm and composed nature. She is a woman with very less words but she can play her moves, so I am looking forward to know audience reaction to the show and my performance in it.”     

Gauahar tied the knot to choreographer Zaid Darbar on December 25, 2020 and both of them have collaborated on several occasions for dance videos on social media as Zaid is one of the most followed social media star, when asked Gauahar whether she will collaborate with her husband in future as well, she said, “We are getting a lot of offer in terms of acting and music videos. It’s been less than 15 days since I got married and right after my walima (marriage banquet), I have been shooting everyday because I am doing a film and two other shows, so I haven’t taken a day off since my wedding day. Of course, we both will do a lot of work together but till April, I am shooting for my projects, so I don’t even know when I am going to go for holiday.”

‘Tandav’ features Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Gauahar Khan, Kumud Mishra, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Kritika Kamra, Sarah Jane Dias, Dino Morea, Anuup Soni, Sandhya Mridul, Shonali Nagrani in key roles.

The series will be available for Amazon Prime Video’s members in India and in more than 240 countries and territories from January 15th 2021 onwards.
