Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao to collaborate with Divya Khosla Kumar for a film

Filmmaker duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, who often collaborates with Divya Khosla Kumar for music videos, has said that they are planning to do a film with the 39 year old actress. Vinay Sapru added saying that they have share nice chemistry with Divya and she inspires them to tell the stories.

Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru were interacting with News Helpline on Wednesday in Mumbai.

Divya Khosla Kumar has collaborated with Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru for music videos such as ‘Teri Aankhon Mein’, ‘Besharam Bewaffa’ and ‘Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi’.

During the interview, Vinay Sapru revealed that they are planning to work with Divya Khosla Kumar in a film with whom they have collaborated on several occasions, he said, “We have introduced Divya a few years ago and now again we have delivered back to back hits with her. So when you often collaborate with an artist then you build a certain kind of chemistry with him or her and they inspire you in a certain way to tell more stories. So, we are planning to do a film with her but we will make an announcement about it when we will finalise everything.”

Divya Khosla Kumar made acting debut in films with Telugu film ‘Love Today’ in 2004. Later, she went on to feature in ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo’ and ‘Sanam Re’ and a short film named ‘Bulbul’.

Divya will next be seen opposite John Abraham in Milap Zaveri’s vigilante-action film ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’. It has been scheduled to be theatrically released on 12 May 2021, coinciding with Eid.

Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao have directed veteran artistes like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Pankaj Udhas, Asha Bhosle, Jagjit Singh for their music videos. Both of them made their directorial debut with the film ‘Lucky: No Time for Love’ (2005).  Both of them have also directed films such as ‘I Love NY’ (2015) and ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ (2016).

Talking about their 20 years journey in the entertainment industry, Radhika Rao said, “I just feel that good stories will work in any era. If your song, its presentation is good and when you are telling the stories from your heart then it is bound to connect with the audience. We haven’t seen any changes when we used to work in early 2000 and now in 2020. Yes… there are few changes like changes in costumes, technique and technology but the melody of songs and good stories have always been valued by the audience even before we started working in this field.”

They have also directed several popular music videos in late 90s such as Falguni Pathak’s ‘Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi’ and ‘Maine Payal Hai Chankai’, Asha Bhosle’s ‘Janam Samjha Karo’, Pankaj Udhas’ ‘Chandi Jaisa Rang Hai Tera’ and in recent period, Dhvani Bhanushali’s ‘Leja Re’, ‘Vaaste’, ‘Naayan’ and many more.
