Gurugram, Nov 12 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Gurugram police have arrested a drug peddler and seized 11 kilograms of marijuana worth Rs 75,000.
The accused was nabbed on Wednesday and he reportedly brought the contraband from Taurau in Nuh district, the police said on Thursday. He has been identified as Manoj of Sadhrana village in Gurugram.
The police said that the accused had been involved in the trade of contraband substances over the last two months.
During questioning, the culprit confessed that he bought the contraband from his aide for Rs 75,000 and sold it in the city after dividing it into small packets.
"The police received a tip-off about the presence of the accused at Bypass Road in Farrukhnagar and arrested the culprit along with the contraband," said Subhash Boken, spokesperson of the Gurugram police.
On questioning, the culprit revealed that his brother Kuldeep alias Sulli was also involved in the illegal trade but he was arrested by the Gurugram Police in June 2020 along with 112 kilograms of marijuana and is currently behind bars. After his brother was jailed, the culprit began to sell marijuana.
"A case under various sections of the IPC including NDPS Act has been registered against the arrested accused at Farrukhnagar police station and further probe is on," Boken said.
The accused was produced before a local court on Thursday which sent him to judicial custody.
