After wrapping Bell Bottom and kick-starting the promotion for forthcoming Laxmii, actor Akshay Kumar along with Kriti Sanon is all set to kick start the shoot of Bachchan Pandey in next year.
Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon will begin shooting for the film in Jaisalmer in January 2021. The makers will soon sign another actress for a pivotal role in the film. Bachchan Pandey is the remake of 2014 Tamil film Veeram.
Akshay Kumar, who is currently shooting for his upcoming period drama, Prithviraj, at a city studio, had recently wrapped up Bell Bottom in Scotland. His next, Raghava Lawrence's Laxmii is releasing on Disney+Hotstar on November 9. Apart from this, he also has to wrap up his portions in Aanand L Rai’s love story Atrangi Re before beginning the shooting of Bachchan Pandey. This will be Akshay's fourth film to be shot in the middle of the corona-virus pandemic.
The film was earlier scheduled to release in January 2021. However, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the shooting of the film couldn't kickstart and hence its release was postponed. The new date of release has not been announced yet.
Directed by Farhad Samji, Bachchan Pandey is the Hindi remake of 2014 Tamil film Veeram. The original film starred Ajith Kumar and Tamannaah.
Akshay plays a gangster in the film, while Kriti plays a journalist. The twist in tale occurs when the two characters meet and discover their common passion for cinema. While the gangster is a wannabe actor, the journalist aspires to be a director. The film will be high on action, drama, and humour.
