The makers of Mirzapur 2, Excel Media and Entertainment issues an official apology to veteran novelist Surender Mohan Pathak and promises to blur the book-cover shown in the series within 3 weeks time.
Noted novelist Surender Mohan Pathak is miffed with the makers for violating the Copyright Act and threatened to file the complaint in Delhi High Court.
The said copyright violation took place in episode 3 of Mirzapur 2, where Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s character is seen reading Surender Mohan Pathak’s novel Dhabba while in the voiceover an erotic scene is described. However, the writer says that the voiceover has no relation to the content in the book and has sent a notice to Excel Entertainment asking them to remove the said scene.
Now the Excel Media and Entertainment has issues an apology stating it was not done with malice or tarnish the writers repute.
The press release further states that the makers and writer have come to terms and the book-cover will be blurred within 3 weeks.
Mirzapur 2 starred Ali Fazal, Divyenndu Sharma, Rasika Duggal, Pankaj Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi, and Harshita Gaur among the others.
Pathak says that he has written over 270 mystery and thriller novels but has never described a sex scene in graphic detail.
