It was on 20th October 1995 Bollywood got one of its best romantic films and now 25 years post its release, film 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' still holds a special place in the hearts of all Bollywood lovers.
As the film clocked its 25 years yesterday, Aamir Khan also came forward to congratulate the team and also thanked them for giving us such a masterpiece. Aamir wrote a tweet, "A hero who discovers his conscience, a heroine who finds her voice, a villain who has a change of heart, DDLJ appealed to the kinder, nicer, higher self within all of us. 25 years of a film that continues to charm the world. Thank you Adi, Kajol, Shahrukh, and the entire team of DDLJ."
DDLJ helmed by Aditya Chopra and produced by Yash Chopra, the film also starred Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Himani Shivpuri, Anupam Kher, Mandira Bedi and Parmeet Sethi in pivotal roles. It is the longest running film in the history on Indian Cinema as it is still running in a cinema hall in Mumbai called Maratha Mandir.
Commemorating its 25 years, the cast and die hard lovers of the film celebrated it by remembering the fond memories of the film. King Khan and Kajol both expressed their gratitude towards their fans for showering so much love to their film.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has been recently very active on social media as he has been seen praising the trailers of the upcoming release. He appreciated Anurag Basu for the trailer of his upcoming film 'Ludo' and even congratulated Akshay Kumar after watching the trailer of 'Laxmmi Bomb."
On the work front, Aamir will soon be seen in 'Laal Singh Chaddha' which is the remake of the 1994 film 'Forrest Gump' starring Tom Hanks in the lead role. The film revolves around the life of a man with a very low IQ who unfolds events in India's history through his perspective.
The film is being directed by Advait Chandan who has previously directed the film 'Secret Superstar' and written by Atul Kulkarni.
Kareena Kapoor Khan plays Aamir's love interest in the film.
