Adam Brody who is known for his role as Seth Coven in the 2003 television show The O.C. is back and this time as a detective in his upcoming film 'The Kid Detective'. The trailer of the film got released recently and is quite engaging.
'The Kid Detective' is the story of Abe Applebum who was a detective since he was a kid. When he was younger, he set up his own mini detective agency. Now, as he is in his thirties and dealing with all the anxieties, battling hangovers, he is still solving cases meant for kids. He gets a chance to prove himself when he gets hired for his first adult case by a client played by Sophie Nelisse who wants to know who murdered her boyfriend.
The trailer struck the right chord with the audience as it is engaging and it blends the solving of a murder case quite charmingly with the comic element.
The dark comedy movie is directed by Evan Morgan. Alongwith Adam Brody, the film features Sophie Nelisse, Tzi Ma, Wendy Crewson and Sarah Sutherland. The film played at TIFF this year but owing to CoronaVirus, the fest was mostly virtual. Therefore, there was not much buzz about the movie.
The film will premiere in theatres on October 16.
