Singapore adjusts border measures for travellers

Singapore, Oct 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) People entering Singapore with a recent travel history to Malaysia's Sabah state will be required to serve a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) at dedicated facilities, the Ministry of Health (MOH) here said.

The city-state's new regulation announced on Monday was a change from an earlier announcement that travellers from Malaysia were allowed to serve a seven-day SHN at their place of residence, reports Xinhua news agency.

As there has been an increase in cases in Sabah recently, all travellers entering Singapore from 11.59 p.m. on Wednesday, who have a travel history in the past 14 days to the Malaysian state, will be required to serve a 14-day SHN at dedicated facilities, the MOH said on Monday.

The Multi-Ministry Taskforce set up to fight the virus regularly reviews the border measures to manage the risk of importation and onward local transmission from travellers, taking into account the current situation in their source countries or regions, the MOH said.

Singapore also require travellers who have recent travel history to Indonesia or the Philippines, and who are not Singapore citizens or permanent residents, to present a valid negative Covid-19 test result to enter or transfer through Singapore, the Ministry said.

Singapore reported four new coronavirus cases on Monday, the lowest daily increased in seven months, bringing the total caseload to 57,880.

The city-state's death toll stands at 28.
