The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao has been allotted an expensive piece of government land in Delhi to set up its national office.
TRS will be getting 1,100 square metre of land in south Delhis Vasant Vihar for the construction of a party office. A statement issued by the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry states two plots of land in Vasant Vihar have been allotted to TRS.
The plots have been leased at a rate of Rs 2,579 lakh/acre. The exact amount for the 1,100 sqm plots is not known yet.
It is not a secret that KCR has a national ambition and after being re-elected with a thumping majority in Telangana, he is very likely to again explore his "federal front" possibilities before the general elections.
CM KCR has announced that the foundation stone for TRS national party office would be laid soon and it will be completed as soon as possible.
TDP, DMK, AIADMK, JDS, YSRCP no party from the south has such a setup in Delhi and TRS claims to be the only regional party, which will now have an office in the national capital. Only national parties such as Congress, BJP, CPM and CPI have offices in Delhi.
Before the 2018 election, TRS chief KCR had started his quest to have an office for the party in Delhi. In December 2018, flanked by TRS leaders and vaastu expert Shankar Teja, KCR visited a number of government lands in Delhi.
