As a part of unlock 5.0 regulations, movie theaters will be allowed to operate with 50% capacity. Same will be the case with multiplexes as well.
The government of India has passed the new regulations a short while back.
The state governments will be taking the final decision on whether or not to permit the operation of movie theaters in their respective states. We might hear about this from the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the near future.

A few Tollywood celebrities, including, Nag Ashwin have been urging the government to permit movie theaters.
On the other hand, noted producer, Suresh Babu is completely against reopening movie theaters and has made it clear that he will not be operating theaters that are run by him.
