Salmon 3D movie is a single film which going to release in seven different languages, along with that it also going to feature 42 songs in seven languages from the single film. This is the first time in the history of Indian cinema that a 3D film has been released simultaneously in seven languages. Under the banner of MJS Media production company Shalil Kallur and his team along with Shaju Thomas, Jose D Pekkattil, Joyce D Pekkattil, and Key Entertainment are producing the film with the budget of Rs 15 crore. After the movies: Dolls and Kattumakan, Salmon is directed by Shalil Kallur.
Singer Vijay Yesudas is playing the lead role of Sarfarosh in Salmon while Sreejith Edavana will compose the music and background music.
Music director Sreejith Edavana says that Salmon's music is Pan Indian style and therefore can be taken to the heart by people of any language. Salmon's music is composed in such a way that it is not confined to the boundaries of languages or countries. After composing music in Malayalam such as Yuv, Madhuranaranga, Shikari Shambhu, Shivani and Meow in Tamil and Kamasutra in Indian English, Salmon's music is directed by him. Salmon is the second 3D film by Sreejith Edavana, who had earlier composed music for the 3D film Kamasutra. Through Salmon, he seeks to bring the benefits of 3D technology to the music that the audience gets in the theater.
The songs are written in seven languages and the lyrics are written by the different writers of seven languages. Director Shalil Kallur had given attention that, instead of translating the first lines into other languages, the lyrics are written in each language according to the context of the story.The six songs are composed by Naveen Kannan in Tamil. In Malayalam, Naveen Marar has composed the four songs.
