Amaravati, Sep 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Andhra Pradesh's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday registered a corruption case against former Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas for allegedly abusing his official position for pecuniary benefits.
"This is a case of abusing official position by the then advocate general, AP, Dammalapati Srinivas and thereby obtaining of pecuniary advantage," said an ACB official.
ACB Guntur filed a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and IPCA Sections 420, 409 and 120 B.
According to the department, Srinivas allegedly abused his position to get land for his father-in-law, brother-in-law, associates and acquaintances from June 2014 to December 2014.
"Later obtaining such pecuniary advantages for himself and his wife through the purchase of some of these properties in the years 2015 and 2016," he said. The ACB identified that those properties were located in the core capital area or within the limits of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) or abutting the core capital area.
"Based on the complaint received by the Director General, ACB, a preliminary enquiry was conducted and based on the contents of the complaint and enquiry report, the above mentioned case was registered," he said.
