We have seen quite a few low-budget films release directly on OTT platforms of late. The likes of UMUR, Krishna and his Leela, Penguin, Bhanumathi Ramakrishna, Joohar, and a few other Telugu films have gone the OTT way.
The latest addition to the list is Nani's 'V' which opened amidst good anticipation. However, the film has garnered a poor response from digital audiences.
Till date, Krishna and his Leela, and UMUR are the only two films which were received relatively well by the audience.
Interestingly enough, not even a single Telugu film which was released directly on OTT platforms has attained a unanimously positive response from all quarters.
Many hoped V would prove to be the game-changer for Tollywood in terms of OTT business but that doesn't seem to be the case now.
As of now, the long wait for a Telugu film to put on an excellent run on OTT platforms continues.
