Bollywood director-actor Mahesh Manjrekar takes a sigh of relief as the person who called him to extort money is finally nabbed by Mumbai Police.
Mahesh received an extortion call from an unknown person, claiming to be a member from the underworld don Abu Salem gang and demanded 35 crore, the filmmaker complaint about this to Mumbai Police, who traced the caller and now has arrested him.
The caller, a 34-year-old resident of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra has been sent by the local court to police custody till September 2, confirms Mumbai Police.
This is not the first time that the Bollywood celebrities have dealt with such cases of extortion calls.
Mahesh Manjrekar, the national award-winning filmmaker is known for directing critically acclaimed movies including 'Viruddh', 'Vaastav: The Reality', 'Astitva', and more.
