Pydikondala Manikyala Rao, who previously served as the endowments minister of Andhra Pradesh between 2014-18 has died of Covid-19, as confirmed by BJP Andhra Pradesh's official spokesperson, Sunil Dheodhar.
Manikyala Rao is presently serving as BJP Andhra Pradesh wing general secretary and his demise has left the party cadre in grief.
Manikyala Rao tested Covid-19 positive a month back and was treated at a private hospital in Vijayawada. His health condition worsened by the day and he passed away today.
"A hard-working and a leader with clean image," Sunil Dheodhar said about Manikyala Rao.
Manikyala Rao, aged 60 is said to be one of the most respected politicians in Andhra Pradesh politics.
This is one of the most significant deaths in Andhra Pradesh since the onset of Covid-19 pandemic.
