Amid India slowly unlocking after more than two months of lockdown, a screenshot is being widely circulated on social media claiming that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has hinted towards implementing a complete lockdown again after June 15. The photo, allegedly a screenshot of a report from a Hindi news channel, also claimed that air and rail travel could also be stopped.
However, this is to notify that the news being spread is fake. A Twitter handle called PIB Fact Check, which counters misinformation on government policies and schemes, posted the snip and captioned:
“Claim: A photo being circulated on social media claims that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) may restrict the train and air services, and implement the complete lockdown from June 15.
PIB Fact Check – This is fake. Beware of such misleading photos spreading fake news.”
