Kolkata, June 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has made eye tests mandatory for Bengal cricketers, it said in a statement. There was a meeting between Bengal coaching unit and CAB administration.

"Eye tests would be made mandatory for all the Bengal players," the statement said.

"There would be wicket keeper's clinic for emerging wicket keepers. Deep Dasgupta would be approached for the same," it added.

There is no change in Bengal senior coaching staff with Arun Lal continuing to be the head coach and Joydeep Mukherjee remaining in charge of cricket operations, it was decided during the meeting.

"Utpal Chatterjee would continue in his role as spin coach and Ranadeb Bose would continue to perform his role as a bowling coach for various Bengal sides," the statement read.

There would also be a spinners' camp by a spin specialist for 7-10 days which may be conducted for spinners who would be selected once the current situation surrounding COVID-19 eases.

No date for resumption of training has been finalised, CAB said.

"A lengthy, detailed and fruitful meeting took place on Monday evening. Every aspect and segment of our preparedness to slowly return to the game was discussed in great details.

"Performances of previous season was also reviewed. Salient points like fitness, eye tests, wicket-keeping clinics, spin camps and team bonding were discussed. The association is confident of slowly safely and assuredly returning to the basics of the game," said CAB President Avishek Dalmiya.
