13 Tablighis among 23 new cases in Jaipur; Rajasthan tally at 383

Jaipur, April 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) A total of 23 new COVID-19 cases, including 13 Tablighi Jamaat members, were reported in Jaipur on Wednesday amongst the 40 new cases reported in state which took the total number of corona patients in Rajasthan to 383, confirmed health officials.

Jaipur has 129 positive cases.

 

On Wednesday evening, nine new cases were identified as Tablighis who had come from Bhagalkot in Karnataka and were in the age group of 33 to 57.

Two local residents also tested positive with them who were from Ramganj which are the local areas of Jaipur. While one was 19 year old, the other was 42 year old, said additional chief secretary Rohit Kumar Singh.

Earlier in afternoon, nine new cases were reported in Jaipur out of which four were Tablighis. While three out of them were males fourth one was identified as 48-year-old female.

The fifth patient reported positive in Jaipur was admitted at SMS ICU. He gave no travel and contact history. However, he is employee of NBC, Hasanpura , a manufacturing entity and became symptomatic since 4-5 days and was referred from Kanwatiya to SMS. He came out positive on Wednesday, said Singh.

The other four were under the age group of 17 to 60 out of which three were males while one was female.

Five more patients were tested positive from Kota who were close contacts of a positive patient who died on April 5.

One positive patient was reported from Jhunjhunu who is a closed contact of a positive Tablighi while other was reported from Karauli who was 75 year old admitted in SMS and was a Tablighi Jamat member.

Meanwhile, two new cases were reported in Jhalawar making it the 23rd district in the state to have reported these positive cases. The patients identified are 35-year-old male and a 22-year-old male, and both have a travel history to Indore.

Bikaner also reported five fresh cases who were contacts of a female who passed away recently. Five amongst these were two kids aged 6 and 11 , confirmed Singh.

Overall, six deaths have been reported in the state, two in Bhilwara, one each in Alwar, Jaipur, Bikaner and Kota.
