New Delhi, March 31 (SocialNews.XYZ) Days after the Additional Chief Secretary (Transport) in the Delhi government was suspended for failing to enforce the COVID-19 lockdown in national capital, 1996-batch IAS Manisha Saxena on Tuesday was given additional charge of Secretary-cum-Commissioner (Transport)with immediate effect.
Education Secretary Saxena, was holding additional charges of Secretary (Higher Education), Secretary (Training and Technical Education) and Secretary (Art, culture and language).
"Saxena...shall also hold the additional charge of Secretary-cum-Commissioner (Transport), with immediate effect," an order from Delhi Services Department said.
In the same order, Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal also gave the additional charge of Secretary (Revenue)-cum-Divisional Commissioner to Gitanjali Gupta (IAS, 1996).
Gupta is Secretary (Vigilance), holding the additional charge of Secretary (Services) and Chairperson (DSSSB).
Two IAS officers in the Delhi government were suspended and two more officials faced action for the mass gathering of migrants in the city during the lockdown, which prohibits any such gathering.
Renu Sharma -- a 1988 batch IAS officer posted as Additional Chief Secretary (Transport) -- and Rajeev Verma -- a 1992 batch IAS officer posted as Principal Secretary (Finance) -- were suspended on Sunday.
A show-cause notice was served on the Home Secretary and the SDM Seelampur.
