New Delhi, March 11 (SocialNews.XYZ) Owing to low passenger traffic due to the coronavirus outbreak, national passenger carrier Air India will truncate its flight operations to Italy from March 15.
At present, Air India operates three-day flight service to Rome and Milan each. Instead, it will now operate two-day flight operations to both the cities.
"Italy us facing one of the most severe outbreaks of coronavirus. We have been seeing a continuous decline in passenger traffic on both the routes," a senior Air India official said.
"After analysing the situation, we have decided to reduce the flight services to the two destinations," the official added.
Last month, Air India had extended the suspension period for its Delhi-Shanghai and Delhi-Hong Kong services till June 30. Prior to this, Air India had cancelled its flights to Shanghai from January 31 to February 14 and to Hong Kong from February 7 until March 28.
