No need to panic on COVID-19: Noida school

Noida, March 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Shriram Millennium School in Noida has advised students and parents not to panic after a student's parent tested positive for coronavirus, saying no children have been found to be infected with COVID-19 and no symptoms have been found in the children while the school has been closed till March 6.

In a statement, the school in Sector 135, Noida, said: "There is no cause for panic as the student's family and the other children who were in contact with the patient are asymptomatic and have no symptoms of the disease. These children have also been tested and as a precautionary measure have been quarantined for the next two weeks."

"We are being guided by the district administration and CMO, Gautam Buddh Nagar who has visited the school today and discussed this matter in detail," said the statement.

The school said it will remain closed from Wednesday to Friday, March 6.

The school campus as well as school buses are being fumigated and sanitised thoroughly. The school has requested parents on some bus routes to take additional precautions and seek immediate medical attention in case any child reports symptoms of cough/cold or fever.

40 students of the school have been tested for the virus and sent to 28-day isolation, the Chief Medical Officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar said. A senior school official, who requested anonymity, has also confirmed to IANS about the developments.

"Yes the said patient of COVID-19 is a parent of our student, we have taken all precautionary measures and are in constant contact with the Health Ministry to monitor the situation," the school official said.

Gautam Buddh Nagar Chief Medical Officer Anurag Bhargava said: "The school will be closed for a day or two now. During this time it will be sanitised. The process of sanitising the school will take one to two days. It takes more than an hour to sanitise a room, our medical team has told the school about the treatment."
