The first official trailer of Sheer Qorma is out, the film addresses the sensitive issue of LGBT, starring Divya Dutta, Swara Bhasker and Shabana Azmi in the leading roles and filmmaker Karan Johar is nothing but praises for the trailer.
The director of film Faraz Arif Ansari dropped the trailer on his social media. He captioned it, “#SheerQorma Trailer Out Now. It is an ode to love, to acceptance, to family. It is dedicated to every mother and every child in the world who strive to find unconditional love. Do receive it with love #LoveisLove #LoveWins #LGBT #LGBTQ #LGBQTIA”
The trailer introduces the audience to Swara and Divya’s love story and how they battle against their mother (played by Shabana) and the society for the right to love.
Filmmaker Karan Johar took to his social media profile and praised the trailer, he shared, “Sensitive....relevant and full of heart....”
The trailer of Sheer Qorma begins with Divya identifying herself as a non-binary person who prefers to be referred to with gender neutral pronouns. It further introduces Shabana Azmi who is unable to accept her daughter’s relationship and calls it unholy and against the laws of nature. The film is directed by Faraz Arif Ansari, who is known for his internationally acclaimed film Sisak.
Meanwhile on the work front, Karan Johar is returning to direction with mutli-starrer Takht, which features Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
"Takht" is a historical drama about the Mughal rivalry for the throne between Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shukoh.
