Delhi violence: GTB lacks facilities as injured pile up

New Delhi, Feb 26 (SocialNews.XYZ) Even as the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital claimed it is well equipped to treat people injured in the anti-CAA violence in northeast Delhi, the reality is that the hospital lacks the facilities to do so.

The hospital in Dilshad Garden is sending many patients out for various tests.

A person with a bullet injury in his back told IANS that the CT scan machine was not working in the hospital so he was sent to nearby Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital for the scan. "The CT scan machine is not working here so they are sending us to Rajiv Gandhi hospital," his relative said.

The kin of the deceased also struggled to get their bodies. One woman told IANS that she had been waiting since Monday outside the morgue to get the body of her brother-in-law but no one was listening. "I have been waiting here since Monday to receive the body of my brother-in-law but no one from the hospital is saying how much time it will take for post-mortem."

Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent of GTB Sunil Kumar said that "till yesterday medical board for post-mortem was not constituted. There is a process for that otherwise it will later create trouble in litigation for the kin, for the police and for us as well."
