Veteran Actor Boman Irani who will be seen playing Farokh Engineer in forthcoming sports drama 83’, says Ranveer Singh is an energetic actor and it was wonderful working with him.
Actor Boman Irani was interacting with media on the sidelines of Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2020.
Talking about his working with Ranveer Singh and the film, Boman said, “We had a wonderful schedule, in Gujarat and Mumbai. It was great to work with Ranveer Singh, he had too much of extra energy which he could share with me and gave me a little upliftment of energy. It was wonderful to work him and I am so happy that I did that film with him.”
Talking about his role, Boman added, “I am playing the role of Farukh Engineer in the 83’, he was the wicket keeper of Indian cricket team from 60’s and 70’s and I am playing that role. I am doing commentary in this film. Basically he was the only Indian commentator in the commentary box for the BBC. Nowadays entire party goes for commentary but back in days, it was only Farukh Engineer and I am playing that role. Shooting in Lords, it felt like that all my childhood dreams have come true”
The film 83 is the story of the Indian team’s surprise win at the Cricket World Cup in 1983. India beat the tournament’s favourite team West Indies and lifted the World Cup.
The film also features Harrdy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Sahil Khattar, Chirag Patil, Adinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, Dinker Sharma, Jatin Sarna, Nishant Dahiya, R Badree, and Boman Irani.
Directed by Kabir Khan ’83’ is set to release on April 10, 2020.
