Despite mixed reviews, Imtiaz Ali directorial Love Aaj Kal 2, starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan has managed to clocks 12.4 CR as Day 1 Box office collection.
Love Aaj Kal 2, a spiritual sequel to Love Aaj Kal, starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, paired Kartik and Sara for the first time. The second part, like the previous one, came loaded with good music and almost same narration with different and more complex characters.
The music of the film is a hit but the movie opened with mixed response, lack to weak screenplay and acting skills, and the movie which was expected to have a decent or good start, merely made 12.4 CR as Day 1 collection.
However, for newbie Kartik and Sara, it’s a big thumbs up as this figure also marks the highest opening day number for Kartik who has steadily become one of the most bankable young actors in the Hindi film industry beating his own record as also of others, film after film.
Love Aaj Kal aptly fills this space with Imtiaz's interpretation of love and complexities around relationships in the modern times. Adding to that, Sara-Kartik’s sparkling chemistry has built a big anticipation and excitement among audiences to catch their onscreen romance.
Meanwhile on the work front, Kartik has an interesting line up of release, starting with Dostana 2 and Bhool Bhulaiya 2.
Dostana 2 is directed by Collin D'Cunha and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar and Apoorva Mehta. Also featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya in lead roles.
As for Sara Ali Khan, she will be seen romancing Varun Dhawan in “Coolie No. 1” remake. The film marks the directorial comeback for David Dhawan, who directed the original.
