The Invisible Man is an upcoming science fiction psychological horror film written and directed by Leigh Whannell. The film is a very loose modern adaptation of the novel of the same name by H. G. Wells and a remake of the 1933 film adaptation of the same name.
The official handle of Universal Pictures dropped the new teaser on social media. They captioned it, “What you can’t see can hurt you. #TheInvisibleMan opens in theaters February 28”
It stars Elisabeth Moss, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid and Harriet Dyer. The Invisible Man, new version is a very different take on the story of a mad scientist who finds a way to make himself invisible to the human eye. The film has already made waves thanks to its #MeToo-era appropriate plot and many horror fans rank it among their most anticipated movies of 2020.
Story-wise, the film is focused on Cecilia Kass' (Moss) relationship with her wealthy - but also controlling and abusive - scientist boyfriend, Adrian Griffin (Jackson-Cohen). Even before she realizes he faked his death, Cecilia is haunted by Adrian and his thinly-veiled threats from when they were still together.
The Invisible Man as a parable about the horror of abuse both physical and psychological, as opposed to the original story about a man who turns invisible and loses his sense of morality.
It is an international co-production of the United States and Australia. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on February 28, 2020, by Universal Pictures.
