After a long wait, finally Karan Johar kick-starts his most ambitious film, Takht, drops a stunning motion poster of the film and confirms the release date. The shooting for the film starts from this coming March.
The official handle of Dharma Productions dropped the motion poster on social media. Takht boasts of an ensemble star cast including some big names from the industry like Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor.
While it was revealed to us earlier that Anil Kapoor plays Shahjahan in the film, with Ranveer, Vicky and Kareena playing his heirs, here we have the exact details of who plays who in the film.
Ranveer will be essaying the role of Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of Shahjahan, while Vicky will be stepping into the shoes of his younger brother Aurangzeb. Kareena will be seen playing Shahjahan's daughter Jahanara Begum.
Alia will play Ranveer's wife Begum Nadira Banu in the film, while the role of Aurangzeb’s wife Dilras Banu Begum will be played by Bhumi Pednekar. Newbie Janhvi Kapoor, who is fresh out of the success of Dhadak, is expected to be seen as a slave girl in the epic.
The film, which is based on the fight to the finish for the Mughal throne, is slated to hit the screens on 24th December 2021.
