New Delhi, Jan 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) The investigation over the rioting in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act in the national capital is gaining momentum as the Delhi Police SIT, constituted to investigate the violence and stone pelting, has appealed to the public to cooperate in the probe.
Special Investigation Team chief and DCP (Crime Branch) Rajesh Dev has appealed to people to hand over all information and evidence related to stone pelting to the SIT so that the investigation can progress.
According to Dev, "Wherever incidents of violence and stone-pelting occurred in Delhi in December, SIT has been specially created for investigation them so that the culprits can be punished. Public support is very important for this. That is why the SIT has asked for evidence related to the incidents of violence with the public. Video clips (footage) and photographs as evidence can prove extremely helpful in bringing the accused to justice."
The DCP said, "Whatever evidence is available with anyone, they can submit it to the SIT headquarters in the old police station complex of Delhi. If anyone wants to testify for help in these riots, then he or she is free to reach the same office and record their statement as well."
