Kolkata, Jan 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) Nobel laureate Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee on Tuesday called on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the state secretariat Nabanna and later said that the state government has a number of "interesting" schemes which he would study before taking up her offer to work together.
"I had come to listen to her, to know about the interesting schemes here, and study them," he told mediapersons after meeting the Chief Minister along with his mother Nirmla, also an economist like her son.
He said he was interested in working with the state government if given an opportunity.
"Yes, the Chief Minister has given some offers. The state government has a number of interesting schemes. We will try to work out an arrangement. Let's see what happens," he said.
However, he refused to answer any question on the National Register of Citizens or the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
