Companies keen to invest Rs 4,000 crore in MP

Bhopal, Jan 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) Investors who had held discussions with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath at Davos, where the World Economic Forum (WEF) is holding its annual meet, showed keen interest in investing more than Rs 4,000 crore in the state.

Nath along with senior officials including Chief Secretary S.R. Mohanty and Principal Secretary Rajesh Rajora, also presented the state as a feasible destination for investment.

 

The Chief Minister also held discussions with Max Peterson, Vice President of Amazon Web Services.

Peterson told Nath that at present his company is working at six locations in India including New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, and Chennai. It has data centres in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai and now wants to invest in Madhya Pradesh.

The Chief Minister told Peterson that 690 acres of land is available for data centres at nine different locations in the state.

"Companies coming to this area will also get a concession of up to 75 per cent at the cost of setting up units on government land."

Apart from this, two central wind projects with a total capacity of 650 MW have also been approved. Each project has a capacity of 325 MW. To be executed by Sut Bank Energy (Japan) and Actis (England). This will have a total investment of Rs 4,000 crore.
