Parineeti is a fantastic actor, says Amol Gupte.

Actor, director and screen writer Amol Gupte has made path-breaking films like Taare Zameen Par and Stanley Ka Dabba. Amol who has opted Parineeti Chopra over Shraddha Kapoor for his biographical sports film, ‘Saina’, says Parineeti is fantastic. He also confirmed that everything is going well and they have almost completed 98 per cent of shoot.

Being provoked about his upcoming film, Amol said, “I wouldn’t have been luckier about Parineeti portraying as Saina Nehwal in the film. She is a fantastic actor. Even Manav Kaul as a coach and Shubhro Jyoti as Parineeti’s father have done their task responsibly. On sets we are like family. Everything is going well. We have almost completed 98 percent of shoot. Few patch work of the film is left. Most probably we’ll complete in February.”

As per the reports, ever since the project was announced, the movie mired in different controversies. It was stated that the ‘Stree’ actress Shraddha Kapoor was director Amol Gupte’s first preference. But later the actress got dengue and due to scheduling conflicts opted out from the film.

‘Saina’ is a biographical sports film, directed by Amol Gupte, produced by Bhushan Kumar under the banner of T-Series. The film is based on the life of Badminton player Saina Nehwal. It stars Parineeti Chopra who will play the titular role as Saina Nehwal. It is slated to release early 2020.
