Actor Krushna Abhishek, who next will be seen onscreen in a film titled ‘O Pushpa I Hate Tears’, has said that his upcoming comedy-thriller film is tribute to India’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna.
Krushna Abhishek was interacting with the media at the trailer and music launch of ‘O Pushpa I Hate Tears’ on Thursday in Mumbai.
Krushna Abhishek’s upcoming film ‘O Pushpa I Hate Tears’ is ready for release. The name of the film is based on the prominent dialogue from Rajesh Khanna’s cult film ‘Amar Prem’.
Talking about his memories attached with Rajesh Khanna’s films, Krushna said, “We never watched Rajesh Khanna’s films in theaters in our childhood but we watched his film in our house. I really liked ‘Anand’ and ‘Jai Jai Shiv Shankar’ (Aap Ki Kasam), ‘Gore Rang Pe Na’ (Roti) songs. So, there are many memories about him.”
Krushna said that his upcoming film ‘O Pushpa I Hate Tears’ is tribute to Rajesh Khanna, he said, “He
(Rajesh Khanna) did ‘Swarg’ with my uncle (Govinda). I watched that film many times so we knew that he was super star. When I was singing title song of this film, I was saying dialogue (O Pushpa I Hate Tears) in his style. We have maintained his legacy so, you can say that it’s a proper tribute to Rajesh Khanna ji which anyone hasn’t gave him until now.”
Talking about his upcoming film, Krushna said, “It’s a comical thriller film. I genuinely want to say that in this film my role is very different because I am doing comedy while playing a negative character. When makers of this film approached me for this film, I was really excited. This film’s title has been taken from legendary Rajesh Khanna film ‘Amar Prem’ and I have sung title song of this film so, it was a nice experience for me while working in this film.”
‘O Pushpa I Hate Tears’ is written and directed by Dinkar Kapoor and produced by Amulya Das and Sujata Das, co-produced by Ratan Mani.
Actor Krushna Abhishek, Karthik Jayaram, Arjumman Mughal & Anusmriti Sarkar are the leads in the film.
‘O Pushpa I Hate Tears’ is all set to release on 7th February, 2020.
