Despite the protest and massive backlash from citizens across all platforms, the current government has signed, sealed and now gazetted the Citizen Amendment Bill. The CAA has officially been implemented; the law came into action yesterday morning and ever since Bollywood celebrities are condemning the implementation on social media.
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, Hansal Mehta, actress Kubbra Sait among many more has expressed their displeasure and concerns over the implementation of the law.
Actress Kubbra Sait took to her social media and wrote, “The CAA has been implemented as of yesterday. What’s buggering about this, is that the government in power, has bent backwards to turn a deaf ear towards the voices of India. It has stood to divide India and fail the constitution of our country. It fails democracy.”
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been pretty vocal about his displeasure with the current regime and their policies. He wrote, “This government will do dialogue if they know how to talk. They cannot face a single question that’s not been vetted, they don’t have a plan, they haven’t put out a system. This is a dumb government. There CAA is like demonitisation. No plan. No vision. Just bullying. #fuckCAA”
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta wrote, “The beginning of the end.”
