Chandigarh, Jan 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday accepted the resignation of Parminder Singh Dhindsa from the post of Punjab legislature party leader and announced that former cabinet minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon will assume this responsibility.
Party spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema told the media here that while accepting Dhindsa's resignation, the SAD President decided to give the responsibility of leading the party's legislature wing to Dhillon after taking the view of party legislators.
"All party legislators unanimously suggested that Dhillon be bestowed with this responsibility keeping in view his long selfless service to the party as well as his experience as a parliamentarian and Cabinet minister. There was also an overwhelming feeling among legislators that no individual was bigger than the party and that everyone must work towards strengthening the party," he said.
Former Punjab Finance Minister Dhindsa is the son of rebel Akali leader S.S. Dhindsa.
