Vedhika wants to work with Bigwigs of Bollywood in future

Actress Vedhika, who is making her Hindi film debut with a film titled ‘The Body’, has said that she wants work with superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. She also added that she wants to work with well-known filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar in the future.

Vedhika was interacting with the media to promote ‘The Body’ on Tuesday in Mumbai.

Vedhika has appeared in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu films. ‘The Body’ is her debut Hindi film, when asked Vedhika which filmmakers and actors from Bollywood she wants to work with in future, she said, “I would be lying if I say that I didn’t have any wish list when it comes to working with bollywood actors and filmmakers. I would love to work with almost everyone in the industry. There are talented and great filmmakers and actors. I would like to work with Amitabh Bachchan sir. He is high on that list.  I also want to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar. I love Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. I feel I can keep talking it for hours if I want to name everyone.”

Talking about audience response to trailer of ‘The Body’, Vedhika said, “I am very excited for the film because it’s my first bollywood movie. I am happy with the audience response to the trailer of the film. It has really built up expectations for the movie and it has crossed 30 million views on YouTube so, I feel that’s a great achievement.”

‘The Body’ is the official remake of a Spanish film of the same name, when asked Vedhika whether she has watched the original film, she said, “No… I actually didn’t watch the original one because our film has been made to cater to sensibilities of Indian audience so, when I read the film’s script and I was totally taken aback with the narrative of whole film. I couldn’t guess anything about the movie. It made me surprise the way things were unfolding in the story.  It’s an extremely gripping story and that’s what caught my attention. Each character has so many layers. All the characters in the film have such interesting graphs. It’s a very intense story with a lot of scope for performance. This is a type of film which you want to watch again and again and there is so much detailing the way narrative has been written so, I feel that’s the beauty of the film.”

Vedhika hoped that audience will appreciate her performance in the film, she said, “It has been directed by Jeethu Joseph who has directed original ‘Drishyam’ (2013) and it has been produced by Viacom 18 Studios and Azure Entertainment Production who are the makers of ‘Badla’ ‘Drishyam’ and ‘Andhadhun’ so, I feel they are very well-versed with thrillers and it’s the type of thriller that needed to be made in Hindi or in any other language because story is so good that no matter what language it will be made in, it is bound to garner a lot of praise and a lot of attention. I am sure audience is going to like the film. I just hope that they will also like my performance in the film so that I can create a connect with the bollywood audience.”

Vedhika is paired opposite Emraan Hashmi in the film and it also stars Rishi Kapoor, talking about her experience working with both the actors, Vedhika said, “It feels great to be a part of a film where there is Rishi Kapoor sir in your debut movie. He is one of my favorite actors. I am really glad that we both are in a same film so, it’s like cherry on the cake.  Emraan is also such a fantastic actor so, I was very happy when I came to know that I am going to pair opposite Emraan. There is an interesting dynamic between mine and his character. I am playing character of a college girl named Ritu and she falls in love with her college professor Ajay which is being played by Emraan so, this is something that I have never done earlier on screen and in my South-Indian films. It was very clanging role for me because I had to get into emotional depth of my character and in my debut film to get such a role is very special so, I am feeling lucky to be part of this film.”

 ‘The Body’ is clashing with Rani Mukerji starrer ‘Mardaani 2’ at the box-office on 13th December, talking about the clash between two films, Vedhika said, “I hope both the films do well and it should be profitable venture for both the producers. Both these films have two different genres. We are coming with a thriller so, we are completely different from the other movies that are releasing so, I wish all the best to every film which releasing on the same day.”
