After sharing the screen space in Shaandaar, actor Shahid Kapoor is all set work with his father, veteran actor Pankaj Kapur once again in forthcoming Hindi remake of Jersey.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh dropped the confirmation on the film. He tweeted, “#Confirmed: Father - son on big screen again... #PankajKapur to play mentor to #ShahidKapoor in #Jersey... Costars #MrunalThakur... Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original #Telugu version... 28 Aug 2020 release”
'Jersey' is a Hindi remake of the Telugu hit of the same name. The Hindi version will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original movie. Actress Mrunal Thakur is also playing the lead in the film.
Looking at the original version, Mrunal's character will be the anchor to Shahid's, who goes on an emotional journey against all odds to play cricket for the country in his mid 30's, when it's time for most people to retire from competitive sports.
Shahid Kapoor is currently prepping for his role in the film. The actor is going thorough cricket practice to get the nuance and finer details right in the role.
Last month, Shahid Kapoor took to social media to announce the film. He shared a picture of himself with a cricket bat. The actor was seen sporting a beard and a hairband in the photo. Along with the photo, he wrote, "#jersey the prep begins."
Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Kabir Singh, which was a huge hit at the box office. Kabir Singh was also the remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda.
